People with mental illness often experience aversion or shame towards the disease they suffer. I wanted to remove the shame and evoke empathy around these diseases, so I created the Divine project. Divine is a concept-art for a platformer game, which exposes us to mental illness when the player's ultimate goal is to integrate successfully into society.
Three mental illnesses are presented in different art styles in the gameThe game is aimed at the general population aged 15-30 and intended for anyone unfamiliar with mental illness. These are the ages when diseases usually outbreak.

The university where the story takes place, before the outbreak of the disease

The patient's mental distress and the social rejection are real problems, but the world through the patient's eyes is imaginary. Therefore, I separated the soul and boss characters' styles from the inner worlds of the soul.

Schizophrenia - characterized with post-impressionism, a style that distorts reality

Bipolar Disorder - depression episode
Characterized by Harlem's renaissance, a gloomy style that divides the world into black and white

Bipolar Disorder - manic episode characterized by pop art, bouncy and happy style

Dissociative Identity Disorder - characterized by Cubism, a style that uses several perspectives
