Figma workspace before applying the organizing method
Starting Point
Our product design team was struggling to locate work files in Figma and our workflow with the software lacked organization. To address this, I undertook a project to establish a standardized, streamlined process for working collaboratively in Figma. I aimed to apply principles of clear information architecture and intuitive navigation.

System Development
After researching industry best practices, analyzing our existing workflows, and exploring online resources, I developed a comprehensive system. This included 5 template files tailored for different project types, each with an easily editable cover page providing an at-a-glance overview and identifying image. The templates were structured with separate, logically organized pages to enhance discoverability. I also created a guidance document and delivered a briefing to ensure the entire team adopted this consistent approach. The cover pages went through multiple iterations, refined for maximum effectiveness after reviewing feedback once the new system was implemented.

We then linked these libraries into every new project file, streamlining future work. Overall, this organized Figma workflow transformed our design process. Team members could now effortlessly locate necessary files and assets thanks to a clear, standardized structure. Reusable templates eliminated duplicated work, while shared documentation allowed everyone to leverage Figma's capabilities efficiently. The result was a streamlined collaboration, enhanced design consistency, and more polished, cohesive results for our clients.
